A. Khalil et al., BERNARD-SOULIER-SYNDROME IN PREGNANCY - CASE-REPORT AND REVIEW OF THELITERATURE, Clinical and laboratory haematology, 20(2), 1998, pp. 125-128
Bernard-Soulier Syndrome is a rare hereditary thrombocytopathy that ma
nifests clinically by excessive bleeding out of proportion to the degr
ee of thrombocytopenia. Only eight reports of Bernard-Soulier Syndrome
in pregnancy have been previously described. In some patients the pre
gnancy course was smooth while in others post-partum haemorrhage was t
he most common complication. We present a primiparous female who had i
mmediate and delayed post-partum haemorrhage that was managed conserva
tively. Review of the literature is also included.
