Abstract
We calculate, using a Monte Carlo simulation, the reflectance, transmi ttance and absorptance of a cermet at oblique incidence. The response is examined in the optical and infrared regime for a material which is near to the percolation threshold. The calculations are made in the f ramework of the scaling theory of percolation clusters, which has been recently shown to account for the optical properties of thin semicont inuous metal films. In this work, the optical properties are averaged using an ad hoc conductivity distribution for the material.
