Mixed crystals of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP) and potassium di
hydrogen phosphate (KDP) have been grown from 19 different composition
s by restricted evaporation of solvent at 308 K. The morphology of the
crystals changes from tetragonal prism to needles when the concentrat
ion of either of the components approaches that of the other. Crystal
composition was determined by X-ray diffraction methods. Variation in
microhardness and optical transmittance of the grown mixed crystals wi
th composition has been studied. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All ri
