Abstract
In this paper, we describe a discontinuous finite-element method for s olving time-dependent electromagnetic problems. The Maxwell equations are considered as a first-order symmetric hyperbolic system. The appro ximation is written on an infinite unstructured mesh and only the spat ial discretization is studied. An error estimate is made. Some conside rations are then given on the asymptotic behavior of the solution over time. The link with nonreflecting boundary conditions is discussed. N umerical results are given as an illustration.
