An autopsy case of adenocarcinoma of Skene's paraurethral gland co-inc
ident with renal cell carcinoma is described. The adenocarcinoma showe
d distinct prostate specific antigen and prostate specific acid phosph
atase pointing to the equivalence between the male pros tate and Skene
's paraurethral glands and ducts. Skene's gland are the homologue of t
he prostate in females and tumours arising from them are immunohistoch
emically similar to male prostate carcinoma.
