Abstract
A new concept for analogue-to-digital (ADC) conversion is proposed and demonstrated. The analogue signal is stretched in time prior to sampl ing and quantisation, Time stretching increases the input bandwidth an d sampling rate of the ADC and is best implemented using optoelectroni c techniques.
