The orientation of the stress components in the metal under a roller i
s established on the basis of the known macroshear trajectories. Relat
ions for the stress-strain state of the ingot in screw rolling are der
ived by an existing analytical method; these relations allow the chang
e in the stress field to be determined as a function of the strain con
ditions. The stress-strain state of the ingot is analyzed for various
rolling conditions.
