ESTABLISHMENT OF PRIMARY PORT WITHOUT INSERTION OF A SHARP TROCAR

A new method allows a primary laparoscopic port to be established with out inserting a Veress needle or sharp cannula. In this prospective ca se series of 348 consecutive healthy women undergoing elective laparos copic sterilization, the laparoscope was complemented with an access c annula that enabled the surgeon to guide it directly into the abdomina l cavity.
