Bc. Lin et al., SEPARATION OF ENANTIOMERS OF DRUGS BY CAPILLARY ELECTROPHORESIS, PART6 - HYDROXYPROPYL-BETA-CYCLODEXTRIN AS CHIRAL SOLVATING AGENT, HRC. Journal of high resolution chromatography, 21(4), 1998, pp. 215-224
Following an extended screening project, 86 racemic drugs were investi
gated by capillary zone electrophoresis in the presence of the chiral
solvating agent (CSA) hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin. A total of 42 d
rugs out of 86 tested was thereby separated into enantiomeric pairs. S
tatistical analysis of the numerous experiments performed un der ident
ical conditions reveals a loose correlation of the migration separatio
n factor (alpha(m)) with the migration retardation factor (R-m). For a
subset of 23 drugs, a drop in the concentration of the CSA was also s
tudied, showing the way to further optimization.
