Abstract
Huge sacrococcygeal teratomas in the newborn can cause significant mor bidity and even death due to cardiac failure, hemorrhage, or both. Sur gical removal is the treatment of choice, but can indicate these event s. Ligation of the median sacral artery, which always supplies the tum or, prior to its removal has been advocated, but in the past this proc edure required a formal laparotomy. Nowadays, it can be easily accompl ished laparoscopically, as this case report demonstrates.
