Extending a procedure introduced in a previous paper, we develop a gen
eral method to construct nonlinear cellular automata in arbitrary spac
e dimensions from the compatibility of pairs of linear operators, givi
ng examples in 1 + 1, 2 + 1 and 3 + 1 dimensions. These cellular autom
ata possess a lot of constants of motion and exhibit a vast array of c
oherent structures, both particle-like (i.e., localized in space) and
wave-like (not localized).
