Inferior vena cava (IVC) thrombosis or obstruction is a complication r
arely associated with blunt trauma. We present a case of IVC thrombo-o
cclusive lesion with both hepatic and renal failure which developed af
ter a thoracoabdominal blunt trauma. Direct thrombectomy and patch cav
oplasty were successfully carried out under deep hypothermia using car
diopulmonary bypass.
