Decapods (Anomura and Brachyura) were surveyed for 3 months in coral r
eefs, seagrass beds, beaches and terrestrial areas of the largest isla
nds at the Cayos Cochinos Biological Reserve. A total of 45 species, w
ithin their families. were recorded including: Coenobitidae (1), Dioge
nidae (4) for Anomuras and for the Brachyura the Raninidae family (1 s
pecies), Calappidea (1), Leucossidae (1), Majidae (14), Portunidae (7)
, Xanthidae (7), Grapsidae (5), Gercarcinidae (2) and Ocypodidae (2).
