Abstract
A preliminary study was done on the malacofauna of the protected area of Cayos Cochinos, Honduras, with the purpose of using it as a baselin e for future projects. A total of 85 species of pelecipods and 106 spe cies of gastropods are reported. This low diversity may reflect the fa ct that samples where only taken in shallow waters.
