Abstract
A new algorithm for eigenstructure assignment by output feedback is de veloped that integrates subspace and parametric approaches to eigenstr ucture assignment. The algorithm is less restrictive than other compar able algorithms and is conceptually simple. An example of the applicat ion of the algorithm and of a gain index for moderating the gain of th e resulting controller is provided.
