Wp. Zeng et al., EFFLUX PERFORMANCE OF SUBMICRON PARTICLES IN PACKED-BED UNDER PERIODIC PRESSURE CONDITIONS, Kagaku kogaku ronbunshu, 23(5), 1997, pp. 730-732
Permeation experiments of ultrapure water were conducted under periodi
c pressure conditions using a packed bed obtained by dispersing submic
ron particles of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) uniformly into a packe
d bed of particles of White Alundum. It is clearly demonstrated that w
ashing performance under periodic pressure conditions where the permea
tion pressure is applied periodically is improved dramatically, compar
ed with that under constant pressure conditions. It is also shown that
the effect of periodic pressure operation is especially noticeable in
the initial stage of the pressurizing period, and that a pressurizing
time smaller than 2 min is very effective under conditions examined i
n this study.
