K. Osasa et al., SEPARATION TEST OF RECTANGULAR ELECTROFLO TATION CELL WITH PACKED-BEDTYPE SACRIFICIAL ELECTRODES, Kagaku kogaku ronbunshu, 23(4), 1997, pp. 594-596
A separation test of an O/W emulsion was conducted by using a rectangu
lar cell fitted with packed bed type sacrificial electrodes. The conti
nuous separation process was represented by a first-order kinetic rate
equation and a two tanks-in-series mixing model as previously reporte
d (Osasa et al., 1996). Three types of electrodes were examined to inc
rease the dissolution rate of aluminum pellets. The most efficient typ
e of electrodes used was one in which aluminum pellets were placed on
both an anode and a cathode and the polarity was switched at regular t
ime intervals.
