This experimental work concerns the influence of an electric convector
on the thermal equilibrium of the air inside a dwelling room and on t
he convective transfers through the six walls. The different results o
btained allowed us to propose a simple modeling of the convective tran
sfers on the four vertical walls with respect to the three possible po
sitions of the convector relative to the coldest vertical wall (in opp
osition, finial and basement). The reference temperature chosen to def
ine the convective heat coefficient is the temperature of the air at t
he center of the roam. We propose a correlation of this temperature in
dependent of the convector's position but depending on the surface tem
perature of the walls and of the output convector's power. In spite of
the low values of the convective flux densities through the horizonta
l walls, we propose a modeling of these transfers based on the simple
concept of heat transfer coefficient. We show that this coefficient is
independent of the output power and the position of the convector. Th
e corresponding temperature difference is defined in terms of a refere
nce temperature that includes the air temperature at the center and th
e Vertical air gradient. We propose a correlation of this gradient in
terms of the convector's position, its output power and the temperatur
e distributions in the Vertical walls of the room.
