A. Khabbazi et al., FLOWS ALONG A NON ISOTHERM VERTICAL WALL, IN A CAVITY - THERMAL STUDIES WITH A LARGE RAYLEIGH NUMBER, Revue générale de thermique, 32(384), 1993, pp. 696-704
In a 2.5 m wide cubic cavity, we partly study the natural convection a
long a non isotherm vertical wall. This wall is made of three stripes
which can be heated differently. For four thermal configurations, we d
raw the thermal curves near the active wall by an experimental method,
and we compare them to those got by the integral method of Karman-Pol
hausen. The comparrson is good even for particular curves. We suggest,
for each configuration, a connection between the numbers of Nusselt a
nd Rayleigh. We also notice that the air stratification is little affe
cted in the middle of the cavity for any configuration.
