Jg. Tibben et al., DECREASED KIDNEY UPTAKE OF TC-99M-LABELED FAB' FRAGMENTS IN OVARIAN-CARCINOMA BEARING NUDE-MICE USING A CLEAVABLE CHELATOR, Nuclear medicine and biology, 21(1), 1994, pp. 17-24
A new Tc-99m labelling method using a cleavable chelator, RP-1, was de
veloped. In this study Balb/c mice with ovarian carcinoma xenografts r
eceived various Fab' fragments labelled with Tc-99m either directly or
via RP-1. Kidney uptake was significantly lower for the RP-1 linked c
onjugates. Tumour uptake showed no significant differences between RP-
1 conjugates and directly labelled preparations. In conclusion, with t
he use of the cleavable linker RP-1, kidney uptake can be reduced sign
ificantly resulting in a lower radiation dose to the kidneys.
