INVESTIGATION OF THE MASS-TRANSPORT OF ELECTROACTIVE COMPOUNDS IN AN SPE MEMBRANE USED FOR ELECTROORGANIC SYNTHESIS

The mass transport of electroactive compounds in a commercial SPE memb rane was investigated using SPE composite microelectrodes. The diffusi on coefficient and concentration of electroactive compounds in the mem brane were measured by chronoamperometry and voltammetry. The experime ntal results indicate that electroactive compounds in the membrane dif fuse as in a fluid electrolyte solution, except more slowly, but faste r than in a recast SPE membrane; and the concentration of electroactiv e compounds dissolved in the membrane differs from that in bulk soluti on.
