Abstract
A simple rapid procedure, using a Iodo-bead as oxidizing agent, has be en developed for labelling 2'-deoxyuridine on the 5-position of the ba se with I-123. The labelling yield exceeds 60% and the total productio n time amounts to only l h. Biodistribution studies with 5-[I-123]iodo -2'-deoxyuridine on tumour-bearing rats showed an important uptake of activity in tissue with a high cell proliferation rate (tumour, intest ine) and in the liver.
