Abstract
Second-order molecular polarizabilities of ten ferrocenyl derivatives which possess donor-acceptor conjugated structures have been determine d with DC electric-field-induced second-harmonic generation (EFISH) ex periments. The relations between the molecular structure and nonlinear optical property are discussed. Issues concerning donor-acceptor stre ngth, conjugation length, linkage and planarity are included.
