Abstract
Two classes of metrics delta(p,q) and rho(p), where 1 less than or equ al to p less than or equal to infinity, 0 less than or equal to 1 less than or equal to 1, in space of fuzzy numbers are introduced. Then a method of ranking fuzzy numbers based on these metrics is proposed and investigated. Not only fuzzy numbers but also the left-sided and righ t-sided fuzzy numbers are considered.
