Proton induced nuclear reactions on enriched Cd-111 and Cd-112 have be
en studied up to 30 MeV in the context of routine production of the me
dically used isotope In-111 with low and medium energy cyclotrons. The
excitation functions of Cd-111(p,n)In-111m,In-g and Cd-112(p,2n)In-11
1m,In-g as production reactions and Cd-111(p,2n)In-110m, Cd-111(p,2n)I
n-110g, Cd-111(p,3n)In-109ml,In-m2,In-g, Cd-112(p,3n)In-110m, Cd-112(p
,3n)In-11Og as competing processes have been measured using the activa
tion method involving the stacked-foil technique. The deduced thick ta
rget yields are compared with those obtained experimentally.
