Abstract
Significant variation in the densities of prey taxa in the digestive t racts of young-of-the-year roach, chub, bleak, bream and gudgeon were found between different mesohabitats in the River Great Ouse. U.K. Pre y selection is an active process, controlled, not only, by species ava ilability, but also by ease of capture.
