We calculate the fragmentation function for a charm quark to decay inc
lusively into transversely and longitudinally polarised J/psi, includi
ng relativistic and binding energy corrections in powers of the quark
relative velocity upsilon. We use these fragmentation functions to cal
culate the asymmetry in the angular distribution of leptons produced i
n the subsequent decay of J/psi. We point out that the inclusion of th
e said corrections reduces this asymmetry from 5% to about 2%. (C) 199
