Mb. Kostyunina, HUMAN EEG DURING MENTAL REPRODUCTION OF E MOTIONALLY SIGNIFICANT EVENTS, Zurnal vyssej nervnoj deatelnosti im. I.P. Pavlova, 48(2), 1998, pp. 213-221
The role of the left and right brain hemispheres in mental reproductio
n of emotional states by human subjects was analyzed using a new techn
ique of EEG power spectral analysis in narrow frequency bands. At the
maximal emotional tension joy was shown to be characterized by an incr
ease in the alpha peak frequency. On the contrary, sorrow accompanied
by a decrease in this value. We think that the left hemisphere (as wel
l as the right one) participate in the development of emotional reacti
ons.
