Abstract
Novel complexes of tetravalent thorium with periodate have been prepar ed from aqueous caustic potash solution. Chemical analysis indicates t hat the composition of these complexes possess the formula: (MTh)-Th-I (H2IO6)(OH)(2).4 H2O (M-I = Na+, K+, NH4+), and the complexes have bee n characterized by means of IR, Raman, W-vis spectra and thermal analy sis.
