Abstract
Hydroperoxide derivatives of beta-oxa-substituted polyunsaturated fatt y acids were prepared by 15-lipoxygenase catalysed oxidation and perke tal derivatives of fatty acid hydroperoxides were synthesized. The per ketals are more stable than their parent fatty acid hydroperoxides, bu t less active as antimalarial agents in the in vitro growth inhibition of Plasmodium falciparum.
