SYNTHESIS AND BIOLOGICAL-ACTIVITIES OF SOME NEW FULLY FUSED QUINAZOLINE DERIVATIVES

Some fully fused quinazoline derivatives have been synthesized via con densation of 3-formylpyrazolo[5,1-b]quinazolin-9(1H)one 2 with bifunct ional reagents followed by ring closure reactions. The structures of t he products have been established by their elemental analyses and spec tral data (UV, IR, H-1 NMR, mass and X-ray). The antibacterial activit y of some products have been also described. Compounds 7, 12b and 13 s how a relatively better activity against some tested bacteria in compa rison with gentamycin.
