Abstract
Naphtho[2,3-c]thiophene (2) has been synthesized in high yield via a f acile base-catalyzed Pummerer reaction. Dilithiation and the reaction of the dilithiospecies with several electrophiles is reported. (C) 199 8 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
