S. Bednarek, SUSCEPTIBILITY OF MAGNETODIELECTRICS WITHIN AN ELASTOMER MATRIX TO LENGTH CHANGES IN HETEROGENEOUS MAGNETIC-FIELD, Applied physics A: Materials science & processing, 66(6), 1998, pp. 643-650
It is known that a small magnetostriction of ferromagnetic materials c
auses problems in some technical applications. The investigations desc
ribed here allowed ferromagnetic materials with high susceptibility to
deformations in the form of composites to be obtained. These composit
es have the properties of magnetodielectrics and consist of ferromagne
tic particles located in an elastomer matrix. Eight structures of thes
e magnetodielectrics were selected. The parameters characterizing the
susceptibility of magnetodielectrics to length changes in the heteroge
neous magnetic field were defined. By using an isometric model, formul
as allowing the calculation of the parmeters were derived. The exempla
ry values of these parameters for selected structures were calculated
and the results obtained are discussed below.
