Abstract
A 4x4 gate matrix switch has been developed by employing a newly devel oped self-aligned multiple chip assembly technique in the hybrid integ ration of spot-size converter integrated semiconductor optical-amplifi er gale arrays and optical fibres on a silica based planar lightwave c ircuit platform.
