Abstract
A dual wavelength self-seeded gain-switched laser diode has been const ructed using two fibre Bragg gratings in an external cavity. The outpu t pulses have been characterised using the technique of frequency-reso lved optical gating, and exhibit a 1.4THz intensity modulation and a l arge negative frequency chirp.
