Abstract
High-speed 1.3 mu m MQW electroabsorption waveguide modulators have be en developed for high-fidelity transmission of microwaves via fibre op tic links. Their high-frequency performance was characterised for a te st link without any form of amplification. An RF-to-RF link efficiency of -32dB, noise figure of 33dB, and suboctave spurious-free dynamic r ange of 105dB.Hz(2/3) have been achieved.
