Abstract
It is proved that a compactly supported (or decaying faster than any e xponential) spherically symmetric potential is uniquely determined by the phase shift delta(k) known fur all k is an element of (a, b), 0 le ss than or equal to a < b < infinity. Here the phase shift delta(k) co rresponds to the s-wave. No information about bound state energies and normalizing constants is assumed known. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V .
