THEORETICAL VELOCITY OF DOMAIN-WALL MOTION IN FERROMAGNETS

We give a description of domain wall motions in ferromagnets in a stro ng external magnetic field starling from the Landau-Lifshitz phenomeno logical model using a singular limit analysis. We obtain a theoretical formula for the velocity of the domain wall motion. The value of the velocity depends on the magnitude of the external magnetic field and t he relation between the direction of the external magnetic field and t he direction of the domain wall motion.
