Abstract
This paper suggests enhanced methods for scheduling distributed real-t ime systems using the FIP protocol. Memory reduction and jitter-resolv ing scheduling methods are proposed for the network to satisfy the cor responding system constraints. A method of synchronizing the applicati on processes and the network is also proposed. In addition, suitable v alues for various timers are recommended, and the transmission perform ance is evaluated. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
