Abstract
The preparation of sterically highly strained phosphanes of the type C p-2PX (X = F, I, Cp* = pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) is described in d etail. Protocols for the so far unknown congeners (X = F, Cl, Br, I), as well as improved procedures for the already described ones Cp-2PX (X = Cl, Br) are presented. Moreover, the molecular structures of thre e of these compounds in the solid state have been investigated on the basis of X-ray diffraction data.
