Abstract
We present an algorithm based on the adjoint method to locate points t hat provide an approximate solution to the parameter estimation proble m for the acoustic model. The parameter belongs to infinite-dimensiona l sets. We prove the existence of the directional derivative of the so lution with respect to the parameter in some dense set of directions o f the set of parameters. This derivative is the solution of a differen tial boundary value problem. The adjoint problem is presented. A resul t on the convergence of the iterations is proved.
