Abstract
Acute hemodynamic data of left ventricular based pacing were assessed in 2 groups of patients with severe cardiac failure: 11 patients with atrial fib rillation and 17 patients with sinus rhythm. Both biventricular and left ve ntricular pacing significantly improved acute hemodynamic findings to a sim ilar degree in both groups, suggesting that left ventricular based pacing m ay be beneficial in patients with severe cardiac failure regardless of whet her or not they are in sinus rhythm.
