The adult female and male of a new species of pit scale, Polea martini Lamb
din, are described and illustrated with measurements included for the vario
us morphological structures. P. martini was collected on Calophyllum sp. in
Borneo. This new species is morphologically similar to P. selangorae Lambd
in based on the lack of large 8-shaped pores on the venter, the appearance
and number of multilocular pore dusters on submargin, and the shape of the
anal ring and number of anal ring setae. A key to the species of Polea also
is presented.
