Abstract
A novel method of spectroscopy to study ultrafast dynamics in condensed med ia, based on a collinear pump probe experiment is discussed. This technique provides an unusual transient absorption signal which exhibits an oscillat ory behavior versus pump probe delay. We perform a phase and amplitude meas urement of this signal on a dye solution.
