Abstract
A potassium tellurite-resistance determinant was isolated from Bacillus ste arothermophilus V and cloned in Escherichia coli. Transformed cells formed black colonies when grown on solid media containing permissive tellurite co ncentrations. The resistance determinant was contained in a B. stearothermo philus V chromosomal DNA fragment of 7 kb.
