Horizontal Attenuated Total Reflectance - Fourier Transform Infrared s
pectroscopy (HATR/ FTIR) has been used to analyse spinach (Spinacia ol
eracea) leaves plasma membrane before and after flowering induction by
24 h of continuous light or by gibberellic acid treatments. Pearson's
correlation coefficient has been used to analyse similarities between
spectra. We found that vegetative and induced plant plasma membrane s
pectra were mainly different in the 1800 to 1500 cm(-1) window. This s
hows a compositional modification of plasma membrane which could be as
sociated with flowering induction.
