Abstract
The fragmentation of CS22+ has been investigated by recording photoelectron photoion coincidence (PEPICO) and photoelectron photoion photoion coincide nce (PEPIPICO) spectra with energy analysis of the photoelectron, excited b y HeII alpha (40.8 eV) radiation. From these spectra mean dication energies can be determined; it is found that the mean energy of metastable CS22+ io ns is 27.6 +/- 0.4 eV. that the mean energy of states which fragment to giv e CS+ + S+ is 32.7 +/- 0.4 eV and that the mean internal energy of the frag ments CS+ + S+ is similar to 2 eV.
