Abstract
Halogenation of the potassium or silver salts of bis ((trifluoromethyl)sulf onyl) methane (CF3SO2)(2)CH2 and its cyclo analogues (CF2)(n)SO2- CH2SO2CF2 with N-fluouo-bis ((trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl)imine (CF3SO2)(2)NF, chlorine or bromine gave good yields of the corresponding alpha-halo disulfones (CF 3SO2)(2)CHX and (CF2)(n)SO2CHXSO2CF2 (X: F: Cl, By; n = 1,2). Some chemical transformations of these fluorinated alpha-halo-disulfones are described. (C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
