Abstract
The reaction of glycolic acid 1 with some beta-aminoalcohols 2-8 without so lvent, with temperature and time controlled Zed to the syntheses of 2-hydro xy-N- (2'-hydroxyalkyl)acetamides 9-15. All compounds studied in this work weve characterized by H-1, C-13, and N-15 NMR, infrared, and mass spectrosc opy The structure of compound 13 was established by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study.
