One of the most interesting aspect in the thermal analysis of an ACSR (Alum
inium Conductors Steel Reinforced) conductor is the knowledge of the temper
ature distribution in its interior. These conductors have the problem of he
terogeneous characteristics in their interior.
This paper proposes a model, based on the finite-element technique, that co
nsiders temperature distribution in the interior of the conductor. The mode
l relates the current distribution through the layers with the transmission
of beat between them and with the exterior, both in steady state and in tr
ansient.
